Open the Info Table.
This database permits you to store and retrieve information easily, and with the use of filters. Three tables constitute the database: info, ukey3, and codes. The only visible table is info. Most of the fields of these tables are used for keys. Keys are categories, means of selecting items from indexes.
The only visible fields of the info table are the text_ field and the dates field.
Each group of data consists of several records. Each record has a text_ field consisting of 76 characters. The first line of the group gives the triplet of keys, the date, and the two filters R and O.
The filters are Relevant (or Not relevant), and Own (own a book) or Do not own the book (or the person is deceased). You can choose to see only Relevant data after a certain date, for example.
There are three sets of keys helping find data. The first key may be, e.g., Internet, phone, health, etc. The second key may be (if the first were phone) city names, job sites, family locations, etc. The third key would be the names. You choose the first set of keys from a list. The second set pops up, allowing you to choose a second set. You can choose BLANK, in which case you have chosen all the keys in the list. Alternatively, you may wish to view the list of third keys, by pressing Keys|Key3 Find.
When you Add a key, a dialog box appears with the various fields given. Enter as many characters in the Text field. The same dialog box appears in the Change dialog, without the Text field.
Each group of records has a set of visible lines of text. The first is the header line, giving the keys, dates, and the filters R and O. The second line may contain telephone numbers. The first two words are considered as numbers. Words are items separated by a space or a comma. The program can automatically dial the first or second telephone number.
This second line is the only line that is kept when you create a phone book.
The other lines are just for your own information.
Keys can be cross referenced. A book may be found under the set: Books, Subject, Name. The same book may be found under Authors, Subject, Author. Choose a key and select Modify|Cross, and enter the cross keys. Another example: phone, New Jersey, Dr. Smith, and phone, doctors, Dr. Smith. This way when you can look in the list of New Jersey or the list of doctors.
The phone table is the list that is printed. Your list of phone numbers. View |Phone Table permits you to view or modify this.
Dialing. You can automatically dial a phone. It reads the string up to the first blank, comma, or period. You can have up to three numbers separated by blanks. Phone numbers must be the first line after the keys.
Internet. It will automatically go to the URL. If the url is preceeded by a phone number, it automatically ignores the phone number string. Phone number strings are separated by blanks, commas, or periods. If you have phone number strings, put a tilde and a blank before the URL.
