To find something, choose a filter.

You can choose various filters. Look at all emails with this same category.

Filters Email

Each new email record has an ID that is automatically given and cannot be changed. A second ID, called TID (Thread ID) is given so that you can give all emails on the same subject the same TID, which permits you to see all emails on a single topic together.

If All Threads is checked, then the filter includes all threads. E.g., if you pressed Person, then you will see all emails to or from this person, including all threads, even if not to or from this person.

Press Clear to clear the filter.

Check AND for the logical AND operation to apply. If you pick several filters, all must be true. Uncheck it, and the logical OR operation applies: Either filter will work.

Text search: put in an expression (for Email Text search or Address Text search), including wildcards, and you will see emails (or addresses) with the body containing this expression. If the email phrase contains several words (text separated with blanks), then it will search the text only; otherwise, it will search body, notes, and brief body for the string.

Person: All emails to or from the person with this name. This name is the person from the selected SentTo list, or from the selected Address list, whichever is being shown.

SentTo: all emails to or from all the people listed in the SentTo List.

Earliest Date: Choose dates to limit the emails displayed. The dates use only the AND operation, regardless if AND is checked.

Label: You may add labels to the emails. Check this, and a drop down list of the labels will appear, for you to choose one.

Newsgroup: all email for this newsgroup. This works only if the selected email is from a newsgroup.

Subject: all emails from a chosen subject. You can enter wildcards.

Organization: All mails from or to people from this organization. Many people may belong to the same organization. You may then choose a person filter, to see emails from or to the organization, including various cc, as long as this person is on the list.

With Organization, you may write a department in the organization as a word following the organization. For example, you may have an address record of someone in the IBM organization, another record with IBM Personnel. If you press Organization leading, and select IBM, you will see both. The status bar will show IBM%, with the % meaning that the other records, like IBM Personnel, will be shown. If you clear the filter, and press , and again select IBM, you will see only IBM.

Category: All emails from this category and subcategory, and all emails that were sent to an address to this category..

First Category: All emails from the first category, but not from the subcategory.

Category only. If this is checked, then the category filters choose records which have the chosen category. If it is not checked (the default) then the filter includes other categories if sent to an address with this category.

Old filter: You can restore a previous filter.

Flag: View only flagged items.

Set Flag: Set or clear the flag for the email, which is either the entire email table, or the filtered set.

Keep: Press this to clear the filter, and then to see only records that have Keep unchecked. You can then delete all these records by pressing Delete no Keep.

Run a filter, and press Print. You will see the email. Print, or copy into Word.
