Are you nervous when taking a test? In order to do well, your brain must be focused on the material of the test. If you are nervous, you are thinking that you are nervous, and so not thinking about the test!

 

How do you get your mind to think about the material? Here is what I do. I relax, look out the window for a moment, and then look at the test. If I get stuck or nervous, I relax again and look out the window for a moment. I then look at the material, thinking about it. Looking away for a moment lets the unconscious mind work on the problem. You should have a good breakfast. Without food, we cannot think properly. You should also have a good  night's sleep, for this also helps thinking.
