The teacher must not remain in the front of the room. Instead, he/she should walk around, looking at their notes, talking to individual (or small groups) of students explaining the ideas and the work. This insures that they fully understand.
The teacher must also challenge the bright students, asking them questions and making them think, without slighting the others. This can be done if the teacher sets his/her mind to this important goal. We have to remember that the future of our country depends upon the brightest and best of us, and we, as educators, have the responsibility for our country’s future to do our very best to encourage these students to strive for the best they can do.
“Some of you are confused…” Ask them just what they are confused about. This helps the teacher understanding to what extent he is getting through.
