A cell is like a car

A cell is like a car, for both have many of the same functions.

A cell has walls to hold things inside. A car has a body.
A cell has pores to permit things to enter and exit. A car has doors, trunk, and a hood.
A cell has hooks. A car has handles and such.
Cellular respiration is the conversion of glucose and oxygen into energy and heat. Gasoline burns with air, producing energy for the car to go, with the waste going out the exhaust.
Cells use enzymes to speed up processes. A car battery facilitates starting (one can start without the battery).
Enzymes are consumed by the chemical processes, and restored afterwards. The battery gets discharged a bit to start, and recharged as the car goes.
Cells have mitrochrondia to generate energy. Cars have an engine.
